Content Pages
Create and manage your store's legal and informational pages — Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Customer Service information.
What are Content Pages?
Content pages are the informational pages every online store needs:
- Privacy Policy — explains how you collect and use customer data (legally required in most countries)
- Terms of Service — the rules and conditions customers agree to when using your store
- Customer Service — your returns policy, shipping information, contact details, and FAQs
These pages build customer trust, satisfy legal requirements, and reduce support enquiries by answering common questions upfront.
Creating a Content Page
- Open your store from the dashboard
- Click Content in the left sidebar
- Go to the Pages tab
- Click New Page
- Choose the page type: Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, or Customer Service
- A starter template is loaded — this gives you a solid foundation to edit
- Update the content with your business details (see what to include below)
- Click Save & Publish
Your page immediately becomes available on your storefront at a URL like:
/privacy-policy/terms-of-service/customer-service
Editing Page Content
Content pages use the visual editor. You'll see the page content with headings and paragraphs. Click any section to edit it inline.
The editor supports:
- Headings — organise the page into clear sections
- Body text — write your policy text
- Bold and italic — emphasise key points
- Bullet lists — great for listing conditions or requirements
- Links — link to email addresses or other pages
What to Include
Privacy Policy
You need to explain at minimum:
- What personal information you collect (name, email, address, payment info)
- How you use it (to process orders, send marketing emails if opted in)
- Whether you share it with third parties (shipping carriers, payment processors)
- How customers can request their data be deleted
- Your contact details for privacy questions
If you're selling to customers in the EU, UK, or California, your privacy policy must meet GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA requirements. Consider having a lawyer review it if you have significant sales in those regions.
Terms of Service
Cover at minimum:
- Who you are and where you're based
- Payment terms — when payment is taken
- Shipping — delivery times and what happens with delays
- Returns and refunds — your policy and timeline
- Dispute resolution — how complaints are handled
- Limitation of liability
Customer Service
This is your most practical page. Include:
- Returns & Refunds — step by step how to make a return, refund timeframes
- Shipping — carriers you use, estimated delivery times, international shipping if applicable
- Contact us — email address, phone number, response time expectations
- FAQs — answers to your most common questions
Linking to Content Pages
Customers should be able to find these pages easily. Add links to your store's footer:
- Go to Menus in your store sidebar
- Edit your Footer menu
- Add links to
/privacy-policy,/terms-of-service, and/customer-service - Save
Most stores also link to the Customer Service page from the header or a help icon.
Keeping Pages Up to Date
Review your content pages at least once a year, or whenever your policies change. Common reasons to update:
- You change your returns policy
- You add new payment methods
- You start shipping to new countries
- You change your email marketing provider
- New legal requirements come into force
Add the "Last updated" date at the top of each policy page. Customers trust policies more when they can see they're being maintained.
