Grow your average order value with built-in cart upsells, product page recommendations, and post-purchase cross-sells — all managed from one dashboard.

What Are Upsells & Cross-Sells?

An upsell suggests a higher-value or premium version of what the customer is already considering. A cross-sell suggests a complementary product that pairs well with what they have. Frequently Bought Together (FBT) shows products that other customers bought in the same order.

LaunchStore includes all three as a built-in system — no extra app required.

The 3 Placements

1. Cart Drawer

A "You might also like" strip appears above the Checkout button whenever the cart has items. It shows cross-sell recommendations based on the highest-value item in the cart. Already-carted products are automatically filtered out.

2. Product Page

A Related Products section appears below the add-to-cart button. LaunchStore checks for manual rules first — if you have cross-sell or FBT rules set for that product, those show. If not, it falls back to collection/tag-based results automatically.

3. Post-Purchase (Order Confirmation)

After a customer completes checkout, the order confirmation page shows "Customers who bought this also bought" — a final chance to grow the basket without interrupting the purchase flow.

Quick Start

  1. Open your store dashboard
  2. Click Upsells in the store navigation
  3. Enter a product ID in the Manual Rules tab and click Load
  4. Click Add Rule → enter a recommended product ID → choose the type → save
  5. Optionally drag a CartProgressBar Puck component onto your cart page
  6. Visit your storefront — recommendations appear automatically
Tip

You don't need to set any rules to get started. The Frequently Bought Together engine learns from your orders automatically — as soon as you've had a few dozen orders, FBT recommendations start appearing on product pages.

How the FBT Engine Works

Every time an order is placed, LaunchStore records which products were bought together. It maintains a co-occurrence count for every product pair — the more often two products appear in the same order, the higher their FBT score. The product page automatically surfaces the top matches.

You can view the full co-occurrence table in the Frequently Bought tab of your Upsells dashboard.

Discount Incentives

You can attach a discount to any manual rule to give customers a reason to add the recommended product:

Analytics

The Analytics tab shows impression, click, and add-to-cart counts per source product. Use it to identify which recommendation rules are converting and which need adjusting.
