PageFly Alternative: Page Builder Included at No Extra Cost

PageFly, Shogun, and GemPages are some of the most common Shopify apps — and among the first things merchants cancel when they discover LaunchStore. This guide compares the features and explains what switching looks like.

What PageFly / Shogun Cost

AppEntry PlanGrowing PlanBusiness Plan
PageFly$29/mo (10 pages)$59/mo (unlimited)$99/mo+
Shogun$39/mo$99/mo$249/mo
GemPages$29/mo$59/mo$149/mo

All of these are monthly subscriptions on top of your Shopify plan fee. They add load-time overhead to your storefront, require updates when Shopify's API changes, and lock your page designs inside a proprietary format.

LaunchStore includes unlimited pages with a full visual builder for every plan, starting at $9/mo total — not as an add-on.

The Hidden Cost of Third-Party Page Builders

Beyond the subscription fee, third-party page builders add real costs that most merchants don't count:

Performance overhead. PageFly and Shogun inject JavaScript into every page load. Google Core Web Vitals scores typically drop 10–20 points. Slower pages hurt both conversion rate and SEO ranking.

Lock-in. Your page designs live in the app's proprietary format. If you cancel, your pages break. With LaunchStore, your pages are native — they render with the same performance as the rest of your storefront.

API drift. When Shopify updates its Storefront API, third-party page builders need to release an update to stay compatible. During that window, features can break. LaunchStore page builder updates with the platform itself.

Warning

If you're migrating from a Shopify store built with PageFly, you'll need to rebuild your custom pages in the LaunchStore page builder. Most single-product landing pages take 30–60 minutes to recreate using the template library.

Building Pages in LaunchStore

The LaunchStore page builder uses a standard block-based editor:

  1. Open the Page Builder from your store dashboard
  2. Choose a template or start from a blank canvas
  3. Drag components from the left panel — hero sections, product grids, testimonials, FAQs, video embeds, countdowns, and more
  4. Edit inline — click any text or image to update it directly
  5. Preview on mobile using the responsive toggle
  6. Publish when ready — changes go live immediately

Page types you can build

  • Homepage
  • Landing pages (sale campaigns, product launches)
  • Product pages (override the default template)
  • Collection pages
  • About, contact, FAQ, and custom static pages
  • Blog post layout (if using guides/blog)

Components Available

The component library includes 80+ blocks across categories:

  • Layout: hero, banner, split section, grid, columns, spacer
  • Products: product card, product grid, featured product, recently viewed
  • Social proof: testimonial, review snippet, star rating, logo strip
  • Conversion: countdown timer, announcement bar, email sign-up, popup
  • Media: image, video, image gallery, before/after slider
  • Content: text block, accordion/FAQ, pricing table, feature list
  • Navigation: breadcrumb, navigation tabs, scroll anchor

Migrating Your PageFly Pages

PageFly doesn't export to a universal format, so migration is a rebuild. The process:

  1. Screenshot each page section for reference
  2. Note which components map to LaunchStore equivalents
  3. Use a matching template as the starting point
  4. Rebuild section by section — usually 1–3 hours per complex landing page
  5. Test on mobile and desktop before publishing
Tip

Start with your highest-traffic pages: homepage, hero product pages, and any active campaign landing pages. Less critical pages can be migrated over the first 2 weeks.
