Post-Migration Checklist

Verify everything works and launch your new LaunchStore store.

Overview

After importing your data, follow this checklist to ensure your store is fully operational before switching from Shopify.

Verify Products

  • All products imported with correct titles and descriptions
  • Product images display correctly
  • Variant options (size, color, etc.) are accurate
  • Pricing is correct for all variants
  • Inventory counts match Shopify
  • SEO titles and descriptions transferred
Tip

Spot-check at least 10 products across different categories to ensure consistency.

Rebuild Your Pages

Since themes don't transfer directly, rebuild your pages with the visual page builder:

Homepage

  1. Go to Page Builder → Pages
  2. Select your homepage or start from a template
  3. Add hero section, featured products, and collections
  4. Preview on mobile and desktop

Collection Pages

Collection pages are generated automatically from your imported collections. Customize the layout if desired.

About, Contact, FAQ Pages

Recreate these pages using the page builder. Copy content from your Shopify pages.

Configure Settings

Payment

  1. Go to Settings → Payments
  2. Connect your payment processor
  3. Test with a small transaction

Shipping

  1. Go to Settings → Shipping
  2. Set up shipping zones and rates
  3. Match your Shopify shipping configuration

Tax

  1. Go to Settings → Tax
  2. Configure tax regions and rates
  3. Enable automatic tax calculation if applicable

Notifications

  1. Go to Settings → Notifications
  2. Customize order confirmation, shipping, and delivery emails
  3. Add your logo and brand colors

Set Up Marketing

Replace your Shopify apps with built-in LaunchStore features:

Test Your Store

Place a Test Order

  1. Set a product price to $1 temporarily
  2. Complete a full checkout
  3. Verify order confirmation email
  4. Process fulfillment
  5. Verify shipping notification

Check Mobile Experience

  1. Browse your store on a phone
  2. Add a product to cart
  3. Complete checkout
  4. Ensure everything displays correctly

Switch DNS

When you're ready to go live:

  1. Go to Settings → Domains in LaunchStore
  2. Add your custom domain
  3. Update DNS records at your registrar
  4. Wait for propagation (up to 48 hours)
  5. Verify SSL certificate is active
Warning

Switch DNS during low-traffic hours (e.g., early morning). Keep your Shopify store active as a fallback until DNS fully propagates.

After Going Live

  • Monitor your store closely for the first 48 hours
  • Check analytics for any traffic drops
  • Respond quickly to customer support requests
  • Set up redirects from old Shopify URLs if needed
