Marketing Automation
Set up automated workflows triggered by customer actions.
Overview
Marketing automation lets you send the right message to the right customer at the right time — automatically. Set up flows once, and they run on autopilot.
How It Works
- Choose a trigger — the event that starts the flow
- Add actions — emails, delays, conditions
- Activate — the flow runs automatically for matching customers
Available Triggers
- Customer signs up — New account creation
- First purchase — Customer completes their first order
- Abandoned cart — Items left in cart without checkout
- Order placed — Any completed order
- Segment entered — Customer matches a segment rule
- Date-based — Birthday, anniversary, subscription renewal
Building a Flow
The visual flow builder lets you create automation sequences:
Actions
- Send email — Choose from your email templates
- Wait — Delay for hours, days, or weeks
- Condition — Split the flow based on rules (opened email? purchased? location?)
- Tag customer — Add or remove tags
- Update segment — Move customer to another segment
Example: Post-Purchase Flow
- Trigger: Order placed
- Wait: 2 days
- Send email: "How was your experience?" review request
- Wait: 7 days
- Condition: Did customer leave a review?
- Yes: Send "Thank you" email with discount
- No: Send reminder email
Tip
Start with 2-3 core automations (welcome series, abandoned cart, post-purchase) before adding more complex flows.
