Setting Up Abandoned Cart Recovery
- Navigate to Marketing → Automation
- Click Create Flow
- Select the Abandoned Cart template
Recommended Sequence
Email 1: Gentle Reminder (1 hour)
- Subject: "You left something behind"
- Show the abandoned products with images
- Simple "Complete your order" CTA
- No discount yet
Email 2: Social Proof (24 hours)
- Subject: "Still thinking about it?"
- Include customer reviews for the abandoned products
- Highlight return policy and guarantees
- Moderate urgency
Email 3: Incentive (48 hours)
- Subject: "Here's 10% off to complete your order"
- Offer a discount code
- Clear deadline for the discount
- Final CTA
Tip
Don't offer a discount in the first email. Many customers just need a reminder, and immediate discounts can train customers to always abandon carts.
Configuration Options
- Trigger delay — How long after abandonment to start (default: 1 hour)
- Cart value threshold — Only trigger for carts above a minimum value
- Exclude recent purchasers — Don't send if they bought within 24 hours
- Frequency cap — Maximum abandoned cart emails per customer per month
Performance Tracking
Track your recovery flow:
- Recovery rate — Percentage of abandoned carts recovered
- Revenue recovered — Total sales from recovery emails
- Email performance — Opens, clicks, and conversions per email
- Best-performing products — Which products are most recovered
