WhatsApp Marketing

Reach your customers directly on WhatsApp — the world's most-used messaging app.

What is WhatsApp Marketing?

WhatsApp Marketing lets you send messages to your customers through WhatsApp Business. Unlike email, WhatsApp messages are seen almost immediately — open rates are typically over 90%.

With LaunchStore's WhatsApp integration you can:

  • Send order and shipping updates automatically when an order is placed or shipped
  • Broadcast campaigns to your opted-in customer list — promotions, new arrivals, flash sales
  • Automate messages based on customer actions — abandoned cart recovery, win-back campaigns
  • Chat directly with customers who reply to your messages
Tip

WhatsApp marketing only works with customers who have opted in. You cannot send messages to people who haven't given permission — this keeps your account in good standing and your customers happy.

How it Works

LaunchStore connects to your own WhatsApp Business Account through Meta's official API. This means:

  • Messages come from your own WhatsApp number (your customers see your business name)
  • You control your account — you own the relationship with Meta
  • Your usage and costs are managed through your own Meta account

Getting Started

Before you can send messages you need:

  1. A Facebook Business Manager account — the same one you use for Facebook Ads
  2. A phone number to use as your WhatsApp Business number (can be a mobile or landline not already registered with WhatsApp)

Connecting WhatsApp

  1. Go to Marketing in the main sidebar
  2. Click WhatsApp
  3. Click Connect WhatsApp Business
  4. You'll be guided through Meta's setup flow — sign in to Facebook if prompted
  5. Select or create your WhatsApp Business account
  6. Verify your phone number
  7. Once verified, you'll be returned to the dashboard with WhatsApp connected

Enabling Message Types

After connecting, go to WhatsApp Settings to choose which message types are active:

  • Transactional messages — order confirmations, shipping updates (these are free and require no opt-in)
  • Marketing messages — promotional broadcasts to opted-in customers
