Email Signup Forms

Turn any form on your storefront into a newsletter subscriber capture — automatically.

Overview

By default, form submissions are stored as records in your Forms inbox. When you set a form's Marketing Type to Email Signup, every submission also creates or updates a newsletter subscriber record in your email marketing list.

This lets you grow your subscriber list directly from landing pages, pop-ups, or any page on your store — without a separate email marketing app.

Setting Up an Email Signup Form

  1. Go to Forms in the dashboard sidebar
  2. Open an existing form or click New Form to create one
  3. In the form settings, find the Marketing Type field
  4. Select Email Signup from the dropdown (options are: General, Email Signup, WhatsApp Opt-in)
  5. Save the form

From this point forward, every submission automatically:

  • Stores the submission in your Forms inbox (as normal)
  • Creates a new EmailSubscriber record if no subscriber exists for that email
  • Updates the existing subscriber record if one already exists (without duplicating)
Note

Your form must include an Email field for subscriber capture to work. The email address from that field is used as the subscriber identifier.

For a newsletter signup form, a minimal structure works best:

FieldTypeRequired
Email addressEmailYes
First nameTextOptional

Keep the form short — fewer fields means higher conversion rates.

Adding Tags to Subscribers

To tag subscribers that come from a specific form (useful for segmentation later):

  1. Open the form settings
  2. In the Subscriber Tags field, add one or more tags — for example newsletter, homepage-popup, or summer-campaign
  3. Save

All subscribers captured by this form will be tagged automatically. You can then target them with subscribers:tag:newsletter in email campaigns.

Embedding the Form on Your Storefront

Forms are embedded using the visual page builder:

  1. Open the page you want to add the form to in the Page Builder
  2. Drag a Form block onto the canvas
  3. Select your email signup form from the dropdown
  4. Customize the styling to match your store theme
  5. Publish the page

Viewing Captured Subscribers

Go to Marketing → Email → Subscribers to see all newsletter subscribers, including those captured via forms. Use the Source filter to show only form-captured subscribers.
