Custom Audiences
Sync your customer segments directly to Facebook Custom Audiences for targeted ad retargeting.
Overview
LaunchStore can push any customer segment to a Facebook Custom Audience with one click. This lets you run Facebook and Instagram retargeting campaigns against your own RFM-segmented customer lists — without exporting a CSV or leaving your dashboard.
Prerequisites
- Facebook Ads account connected (see Getting Started)
- At least one customer segment with enough members to meet Meta's minimum audience size (typically 100 people)
Syncing a Segment to Facebook
- Go to Marketing → Segments (or Analytics → Segments)
- Find the segment you want to sync
- Click the Sync to Facebook button on the segment row
- LaunchStore sends the hashed customer email list to Meta
- Meta matches the emails to Facebook profiles and builds the Custom Audience
The sync progress shows in the segment row. Once complete, the audience is available in your Facebook Ads Manager.
Email addresses are hashed with SHA-256 before being sent to Meta. Raw email addresses are never transmitted.
Using the Audience in Facebook Ads Manager
After syncing, the audience appears in Facebook Ads Manager under Audiences with the name matching your segment name in LaunchStore.
You can use it for:
- Retargeting — show ads to at-risk customers who haven't purchased recently
- Lookalike audiences — find new customers who look like your best buyers
- Exclusions — exclude recent buyers from acquisition campaigns to avoid wasted spend
Keeping Audiences Fresh
The sync is a point-in-time snapshot. To keep the Custom Audience up to date, re-run the sync periodically — for example, once a week for active segments.
Combine with RFM segments for the highest-value targeting. Sync your Champions segment as a Lookalike source and your At Risk segment for win-back retargeting ads.
