Overview
The Facebook Pixel is a tracking code that collects data about how visitors interact with your store. It enables conversion tracking, audience building, and ad optimization.
Installing the Pixel
- Navigate to Marketing → Facebook Ads → Pixel
- Enter your Facebook Pixel ID (found in your Facebook Events Manager)
- Click Install Pixel
- The pixel is automatically added to all your storefront pages
Note
LaunchStore handles pixel installation automatically. No code editing required.
Events Tracked
The pixel automatically tracks these events:
- PageView — When someone visits any page
- ViewContent — When someone views a product
- AddToCart — When someone adds a product to their cart
- InitiateCheckout — When someone starts checkout
- Purchase — When an order is completed
- Search — When someone uses your store search
Using Pixel Data
Custom Audiences
Create audiences based on pixel data:
- Website visitors — Everyone who visited in the last 30 days
- Product viewers — People who viewed specific products
- Cart abandoners — People who added to cart but didn't buy
- Customers — People who completed a purchase
Lookalike Audiences
Find new customers similar to your best audiences:
- Choose a source audience (e.g., customers)
- Select target countries
- Set audience size (1-10%)
- Facebook finds people with similar characteristics
Conversion Optimization
When running campaigns optimized for conversions, the pixel data helps Facebook show your ads to people most likely to purchase.
Verifying Your Pixel
After installation, verify it's working:
- Visit your store in a new browser window
- Check Facebook Events Manager → Test Events
- You should see PageView and other events firing
Privacy Compliance
